Event: Lunchtime talk: Diary of a Soldier
Date: 19 May 2015 1.10pm to 2pm plus Q&A
Location: Plymouth City Museum and Art Gallery
As we mark the 100th anniversary of the Gallipoli campaign of WWI, join our marketing and communications officer, Jo Clarke for a presentation about the diary and sketchbook of Plymouth soldier, Wilfred Owen Reynolds. Reynolds was an artist and teacher from the Lipson area who served in the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force. His diary is dated 16 July 1915 to 25 February 1916 and traces his outward voyage from Plymouth to Gallipoli via Malta and Egypt. Jo will share images of some of his beautiful watercolours of Egypt with you as well as read excerpts from his diary. This is a Plymouth History Festival 2015 event.
